Yes, it's a neologism. I've just made it. It expresses my feelings of late. My readers know what I feel about cellphones in general. I don't like them, because they take away my freedom, but I'm not an idiot: they are useful and necessary in many cases. But people always exaggerate: they can't live without them, disregarding where they are and who they are with, they repeatedly communicate without really communicating, in empty chats, one after the other, alienating them from human touch, turning them into mechanical parts of a brainless chain. I'm all for technology in the service of mankind and I'm all against mankind enslaved by technology. In Portugal, cellphones sell like hot cakes, with large numbers of people having more than one apparatus But who cares, anyway?
Until recently, this was what I felt. They got on my nerves, specially when used to show the rudeness of many people. My decision was to try to avoid to have one while I could. But then, cellphones started to be a way of threatening me. Everywhere I turn, there they are: ringing, talking or listening, sending or reading SMS, like in science-fiction, where a Big Brother is controlling you everywhere. With me, it's the Devil, you know. It's his net, his slaves are always connected to him and showing they are so, always spying, always conspiring to destroy true love.
My advice to my readers is to try to remember any scene connected with cellphones and to be on the watch as from now. As for me, I've got a phobia for the rest of my life. Anyone who wants to approach me, be sure to hide the cellphone. Otherwise, be on your guard, or fuck off !
