Philantropist of the Equinox

Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian was born 150 years ago.

For lending me the books I could not afford;

For giving me access to a wonderful library;

For sponsoring my post-graduation studies in England;

For showing me refined art works in a impeccable museum;

For letting me indulge in performances of all time classical music;

For admitting me into a piece of nature in the center of Lisbon;

For having Your House so close to mine, which made me a "Gulbenkian girl" from the start;

All in all, for being so much part of my education,

I thank you, Mr. Gulbenkian.

You are one of the men of Aries of my life.

2019 is the YEAR GULBENKIAN in Portugal, the country in which he chose to leave his Foundation for posterity.

Without his generosity, many brilliant minds from all walks of life would have never been able to flourish.

That's why Gulbenkian is the foreigner that really matters to the Portuguese.

Long live his memory!!! 

P.S. The Falcon of Horus is crowning the statue of Gulbenkian, in Lisbon. That bird is also the Amerindian Totem of the natives of Aries born in the North Hemisphere. Therefore, it is an excellent symbolical choice.
