Today, as I
have done for the last 16 years, I went to the premiere of the new STARWARS film. Yet, for
the first time, I’m positive I’m not watching this movie again.
It’s the
very worst of them all, surely, because it fails all the way: too many noises
and flashes and special effects, too many clichés in the story and almost no news, except that
the Kessel Run is not really a race, Darth
Maul is alive (!?) and Han was much shorter when he was young.
What is
there left of the STARWARS style? This looks like a TV series episode, there’s no
Force to be seen there, just big bucks in fireworks. I don't play to this music. Enough said.
21 June 2018:
Good to know spin-offs are over. Congrats!
Now, about Episode 9: if you want to avoid even a bigger flop than this one (which will doom the entire trilogy) forget all the characters from the six first episodes, except...The Chosen One. Just center the plot around Anakin/Vader's ghost and the new generation. It makes sense. It'll be perfect. JUST DO IT!!!
28 July 2018:
Episode 9 filming and cast announced.
Sad, sad, sad.
Count me off.
