One
advantage of living in Portugal
is to be able to see the world premieres 24 hours in advance. Therefore, I have
already watched ROGUE ONE.
It is a good
film, better in many ways than Episode 7, with good acting, nice story,
beautiful photography, etc, but… sorry… that old magic is still missing. I
could not feel it, even with those two minutes of the Chosen One as I expected,
which means all excellent. Finally we see how Vader really fought and a bit
more how he managed to survive. Truly, the show of the dark Lord is the light of this
film, but two minutes are not enough for two hours. Or maybe, yes, probably,
what I need is an entire movie about Vader. I make no secret about my wish, but
I won’t repeat here what I wrote before.

Anyway,
ROGUE ONE is a spin-off, so, its importance is not as great as the upcoming
Episode 8, with which I will have a definite opinion about this new bunch of
Star Wars prequels and sequels. Until now I really missed George Lucas unique
touch, that way of filming and telling a story I cannot find in these new
productions.
I say go
and watch it, it is worth the ticket price and the time spent.
And then
you can add to your collection of female heroes Star Wars' Joan of Arc, Jyn
Erso.

Carrie Fisher dying is an absolute NO. Quoting Leia' s daddy: I want her alive!
Sorry I'm being such an egoist, but Episode 8 must be her triumph, when the character dies, not the actress.
The Force is strong with you, girl. Come back to us!!!
