This scene shows Aragorn doing what he must to shut the Mouth of Sauron, who spreads the word of the Devil. It's a well conceived reverse of the decapitation of John the Baptist, who called himself the voice of God.
This is a serious theme, but it can be approached with humour. The best example I'm aware of is a wonderful sketch by a great Brazilian comedian, Jô Soares, from the time my true acquaintance with people of that country begun and Batista was almost a continuous joke amongst us. You have to know Portuguese to understand it, though. Enjoy!
