2007: what’s in the numbers?

The Western Calendar is now leaving the year of 2006 and entering the year of 2007. It is a solar calendar, close to the movement of the Earth around the Sun, but it is not accurate. The New Year starts with the Winter Solstice, when the Sun is reborn after the longest night of the year (it's around the 21st of December, as my readers already know). Yet, there is something new every first day of January: the numbers change. This time an important coincidence occurs between the numbers of the year and the number of EU member States, as has been noted by various sources. Its meaning only time will tell...

According to Numerology, the meaning of numbers is to be understood in two levels: individually and as the sum of all. Starting with the number of the millennium, the real change occurred in the year 2000, when a feminine, the couple number, the 2 substituted the masculine, individual number, the 1. Women are taking over (better late than never) that’s the symbolic meaning, as The High Priestess of the Tarot took the place of The Magician.

2006 was a very feminine year, as the 6 is also a feminine and couple number, its Tarot card being The Lovers. It means choices, not only love choices, but all kinds of important choices. Adding the numbers, we get number 8, which is also a feminine number that stands for magic and infinity, being Justice its Tarot card. Therefore, 2006 was an ideal year to make the right choices, i.e., if justice presided over them, they will prevail. On the other hand, if choices were postponed or not truthful, now they can turn against us.

2007 is a more masculine year, as the 7 is a masculine number connected with action under control, its Tarot card being The Chariot. After the choices were made (in 2006) we must step into our chariot and drive it by the safest road to achieve our ends. Remember there are two horses pulling the chariot (the opposites: one black, one white) that need to be matched, so they can work for the same purpose. The outcome of the race depends on the driver: it can be average, end up in an accident, or be a parade of triumph. However, to refuse to race is not an option: the chariot will either be driven by us or it will drag us.

Adding the numbers, we get number 9, which is also a masculine number that stands for achievement and wisdom, being The Hermit its Tarot card. The 9 is the number of completion, meaning that all that was sown in the previous numbers (years) is now to be harvested. Enlightened by the wisdom and restrain of the hermit, the charioteer will keep his fast chariot on the right track and reach the top of the mountain.
Amen to that for all of us in 2007 !
